Adra makes positive impact on local communities
Activities by Adra housing association and its partners and contractors contributed over £12.5 million worth of social value to communities across north Wales over the past year.
The Social Value 2024/25 report published today (Thursday, 17 July) highlights how communities have benefitted from projects to support people, homes, communities, the environment, financial inclusion, supported housing, employment, skills and training, as well as community investment, Welsh language and culture.
The report includes a number of highlights:
- £15 million invested in improving Adra’s current homes
- 195 new homes completed
- 91% tenant satisfaction for having a safe and secure home
- Resolving anti-social behaviour has resulted in £725,683 of social value.
- Wardens conducted 506 new starter tenancy inspections and 1,657 communal area checks
- 501 people in Gwynedd supported through Counting the Pennies, a numeracy skills and financial inclusion project.
- 202 referrals to Citizens Advice
- 55% of Adra’s suppliers were based in Wales, 95% of those in north Wales.
- £43,748,319 in total spent with local suppliers in north Wales

The report highlights the high tenant satisfaction survey results – among the best in Wales. It also highlights efforts to consult and engage with tenants, with 1,900 people sharing their views with us.
The report also focusses the success of Academi Adra, our skills and training initiative. Over the past year, 164 people have received vocational training in construction, customer and administrative skills, grounds maintenance and supporting people courses. 36 people were supported into paid work placements and 29 individuals have gone on to full time employment or an apprenticeship.
