Apprenticeships Week 2026

Apprenticeships Week is a fantastic opportunity for us to celebrate talent, inspiring career journeys and the unique training opportunities we offer across the organisation. We are extremely proud of the contribution our apprentices and trainees make, they are an essential part of our workforce.

We currently have five apprentices and one trainee working within our Property service:

  • 2 Apprentice Electricians
  • 2 Apprentice Joiners
  • 1 Apprentice Plumber
  • 1 Trainee Plasterer

These roles play a vital part in strengthening our teams and ensuring we continue to provide high‑quality services to our tenants and communities.

Luke’s inspiring journey

One of our standout success stories is Luke, who has now been part of the team for four years after meeting us at a local Job Fair.

After completing his apprenticeship, Luke spent a year as a trainee and now works full time with us as a plasterer. To reach this point in his career, he has completed training at Coleg Menai, as well as the specialist Internal Weber course.

Luke has gained hands‑on experience with our teams across north Wales and continues to develop his skills and master the craft of plastering. We are extremely proud of his journey, he is a fantastic example of how apprenticeship opportunities can open doors to a rewarding and fulfilling career.

Housing Trainee, investing in future generations

We are also proud of Beca, a Housing Trainee completing a two‑year programme with us. She is gaining a wide range of experience across four key departments:

  • Neighbourhood Services
  • Rent
  • Lettings
  • Business Development

Her training combines practical on‑the‑job learning with academic development, including studying towards her CIH qualification while earning a salary.

Since the scheme started back in 2018, many of our previous housing trainees have gone on to secure full‑time roles in the housing sector, several remain here at Adra, building successful and meaningful careers within the industry.

Apprenticeships beyond the trades

Traditionally, apprenticeships were mostly associated with practical roles such as electricians and joiners. However, we are proud to offer apprenticeship opportunities across a wide variety of fields.

Joel Roberts, part of our IT team, is following a different but equally exciting path as a Degree Apprentice. Joel is currently in his second year of the BSc (Hons) Applied Software Engineering  Degree Apprenticeship, contributing essential digital and technical skills to our organisation.

As part of our Corporate Plan, we are committed to providing 700 opportunities for people to develop their employability skills. Our current apprentices and inspiring alumni like Luke are proof of the impact this vision can have.

To continue fulfilling this commitment, we are pleased to announce that we will be recruiting four new apprenticeship roles starting in August 2026:

  • Apprentice Electrician
  • Apprentice Joiner
  • Apprentice Plasterer
  • Apprentice Plumber

These opportunities will offer local people a pathway into a rewarding career in the housing sector, supported by our experienced and dedicated teams.
