Celebrating the completion of the first Rent to Buy in Gwynedd

Adra is celebrating the success of a young local couple on completing the purchase of their home through the Rent to Buy scheme, the first to be completed in Gwynedd.

Mr and Mrs Whitten said: “We are so proud to finally be the owners of our own home.

“Before moving to live in this house we lived in a private rented house.

“Without the Rent to Buy scheme we would not have been able to buy a house, through the scheme we had a deposit of £10,000 and with a contribution from the Government it was possible for us to buy our home, with a mortgage which is not much more than the rent we were paying.

“We are delighted that the children have a bedroom each, and we are very happy here.”

Elin, Adra’s Affordable Homes Officer, said: “We are delighted to congratulate Mr and Mrs Whitten on successfully completing their Rent to Buy journey, the first we have completed in Gwynedd.

“This milestone is not only a personal achievement for them, but also a proud moment for us at Adra. It reflects our commitment to helping local people take their first steps into home ownership in a way that is affordable and sustainable.

“We wish them every happiness in their home.”
