Continuing to invest in homes and people

We have invested £17.9 million in improving our housing stock and have built 180 new homes over the past year, according to a newly published report.

The company’s annual report, presented at the company’s annual meeting at Tŷ Gwyrddfai, Penygroes tonight (30 September) reflects how we’ve contributed to our Corporate Plan and priorities – improving homes; making a positive difference to tenants’ lives; creating more homes and fostering a ‘one team’ culture within the company to strengthen services for customers.

We now manage over 7,500 homes across North Wales and provide housing for more than 18,000 people.

  • 85% of tenants felt safe in their neighbourhood
  • 79% of tenants were happy with the opportunities to influence decisions
  • £22.9 million of social value has been created through Adra activities and its contractors/partners
  • 93% – staff satisfaction rate

Sasha Davies, Chair of our Board, said: “The report is a great opportunity for us to celebrate the company’s successes over the past year.

“It’s been an incredibly busy twelve months as we come to the end of the first year of our Corporate Plan and we’ve made significant progress towards reaching our ambitious targets.

“Tenants are at the heart of everything we do as a company. They’ve told us they want to see more investment in their homes and there’s a huge need for new housing across North Wales. We’ve listened and responded positively to that demand.

“Supporting tenants with the cost of living continues to be important to us The report reflects the support services that we’ve offered, as well as the training and employment opportunities to help individuals to thrive”.

Iwan Trefor Jones, our Chief Executive, said: “One of the main challenges of the year was preparing for an inspection by the Regulator and it was great to receive a green rating for governance, service delivery and financial viability.

“We’re the only housing association to receive a rating without any recommendations for improvement so far. But we are an ambitious company where continuous improvement is part of our DNA.

“We look forward to continuing to provide services that our tenants can be proud of”.
