Tîm Cymunedol’s Half Term Project
Over half term, our Tîm Cymunedol were busy once again after organising events for local children, this time, for year 7 pupils of Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen, Bethesda.
The days had been organised jointly with Community and Family Engagement Officers in Cyngor Gwynedd, with a number of other partners working together to hold the daily sessions.
Pupils received breakfast and lunch as part of the programme.
On the first day, Billy McBryde from Bangor University came over to the school to host a rugby camp, as well as a basketball session.

On the second day, everyone travelled to Plas Menai where the children took part in high ropes activities in the morning, and a Swimsafe session in the afternoon.
The Swimsafe session was co-ordinated by Byw’n Iach and funded by Actif North Wales. It was a session to identify the dangers of swimming in open water and how to stay safe.

Billy McBryde said: “I had the privilege to be invited to one of the Adra community projects.
“The aim of the project was to open doors to pupils and to show them the opportunities that North Wales has to offer, and as part of my role here at the university, developing rugby is essential to the students so they can see the opportunities that the Bangor area has to offer.
“I’d like to thank Adra for the invitation and to the students for being so engaging and eager to learn new skills.”
