VE Day celebrations at Cysgod y Coleg
It was heartwarming to see the residents of Cysgod y Coleg, and their invited guests attend an afternoon tea to celebrate VE Day yesterday.
The communal room was transformed into a post war celebration venue with bunting, photos, posters, decorations and music from the era. With over 30 people in attendance, the room was filled with laughter and sharing stories. As you can see, many of the residents dressed up, with Rob coming as no other than Winston Churchill!
There were plenty of Adra staff on hand to help with the serving and washing up, but the thanks is down to the residents themselves – who baked most of the cakes themselves from the wartime recipe book ‘We’ll Eat Again’. A hot topic was that most of the food at the table was still enjoyed today!
It was a great afternoon and the tenants and staff enjoyed it!
