Ysgol Y Felinheli pupils make history

Last week we had the opportunity to take part in a very special event over in Y Felinheli.

Williams Homes Bala Ltd had been over to the primary school to host construction workshops in one of the classes, and the idea of ​​creating a time capsule  was discussed with the children.

The children set about planning a design for the time capsule and not only thinking about what to put in it, but where exactly to plant it.

The class got in touch with us to request permission to plant the capsule at our brand-new estate, Cae Perthi, which has been built over the road to their school.

Members of our Development Team arranged the exact size of the hole needed and went over to Cae Perthi to dig it ready for the big day, and members of our staff were there on the day to help the children put it in place before taking the children on a tour around the homes.

According to the children, the time capsule was filled with items such as the school menu as it is today, coins and paper money, an article from that day’s newspaper and a picture of the class.

An official plaque marking the date of the time capsule will be put in place shortly.
