Work starts on new affordable housing in Y Bala

We are building nine new houses in Y Bala. The building work has started in partnership with a local contractor, Gareth Morris Construction Ltd.

We are responding to the housing crisis in Gwynedd and trying to contribute by providing affordable and social housing to meet the local housing need.

As part of our development programme, we are working on 13 additional homes currently on site in Gwynedd with more than 200 additional houses to come across Gwynedd.

Our development programme has seen a great growth and has grown through working with local contractors such as Gareth Morris Construction, supporting small and medium sized local businesses and the local supply chain and contributing to the local economy.

Daniel Parry, our Development Director said:

“Adra is growing by building homes, creating jobs and opportunities across Gwynedd ac north Wales.

“We have strived to create more houses at an affordable price to meet the local housing need in North Wales.

“We are very happy to be working in partnership and continue the working relationship with Gareth Morris Construction Ltd. Using local companies and contributing to the local economy and also supplying houses to people who need them is very important to us.”

Dylan Wyn Jones, Gareth Morris Construction Ltd Operations Manager said:

“We feel excited that we are still developing our successful partnership with Adra starting by building affordable houses on Cysgod y Coleg site, Y Bala. We continue to work with Adra after completing affordable housing in Hirael and Maesgeirchen. We are looking forward to work on more developments with Adra in the future.

“This work will also provide community benefit locally for the community including employing and training locally and use small local businesses.”

There will be three two-bedroom bungalows and six two bedroom houses available on social rent.
