Adra’s EDI work makes the shortlist

Adra is shortlisted in the Best Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Initiative category of the Chartered Institute of Personal Development awards.

An application has been submitted on behalf of Adra in the Best Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) category and has made it through to the final.

The shortlist was announced on Tuesday, with the awards themselves taking place on 15 March.

The focus of the submission has been around the work we’ve carried out as part of Prosiect Perthyn. That includes the events arranged as part of the health and well-being programme, work around the Strategic Equality Plan, projects in local communities and the various public events we have been involved in over the past year.

Delyth Williams, Director of People and Organisational Development, said: “This is very much a team effort and I would like to thank you all for your commitment.  We have placed a great focus on developing our EDI approach over recent years and we’re proud of our achievements to date.

“We want our organisation to reflect the diversity within our communities. We want our day to day work to reflect our values as an organisation (of being open and fair) and make sure that everyone feels part of the Adra community. We also want to celebrate diversity and inclusion in our communities and this submission reflects some of the key projects we have undertaken around EDI.

“We also carry out annual EDI health checks with colleagues, held every other year, to gain a true picture of your understanding of EDI issues. The last survey we held in late 2023 had a 52% response rate and the results are due soon. We also carried out a survey amongst tenants”.
