Under the spotlight – What next for the Welsh communities of the North West

Working together to create prosperous communities and discussing the next steps to promote and protect the Welsh communities of the North West Wales will be the topic of discussion at an event organised by Adra, the largest housing association in North Wales during the National Eisteddfod.

The event, entitled ‘Ensuring Prosperous Communities – Together’ will be held in The Societies Pavilions 2 (Pabell y Cymdeithasau 2) on the Maes on Saturday, August 5 at 2.30pm.

Among the speakers will be Iwan Trefor Jones, Chief Executive of Adra; Sian Gwenllian, Arfon Senedd Member; Dafydd Gruffydd, Managing Director of Menter Môn; Bethan Williams, Chief Executive of Mantell Gwynedd and Councilor Craig ab Iago from Gwynedd Council.

Iwan Trefor Jones, Chief Executive of Adra, said: “We are very pleased to join a number of organisations for this important panel discussion on the Maes.

“Adra has made a firm commitment in its Corporate Plan to work towards making our communities more prosperous and where people can thrive, whether that be through high quality housing or training and apprenticeship opportunities.

“We want our communities to be confident and resilient by making sure they can access services and opportunities. But we cannot do this alone and partnerships are extremely important to Adra.

“The panel session will be a great opportunity to hear from the other organisations and individuals about the work they are doing in this area, with a great emphasis on what the next steps will be. How can we work together to protect the countryside and Welsh in this day and age?

“I’m sure there will be plenty of discussion and it’s extremely important that we as leaders in our communities have the conversation and ensure that we act positively to help our communities to flourish”.

The panel session is open to the public.
