Adra and Novus staff outside Adra homes doing a clean up

Adra cleaning up the streets

Staff from Adra joined colleagues from Novus today (Monday) for the latest initiative to clean up communities.

A litter pick was arranged along Ffordd Caernarfon, Bangor, in response to concerns raised by local tenants and feedback from Novus, Adra’s contractor carrying out works in the area. The litter pick also forms part of Novus’ social value commitments on this contract.

We were delighted to be working in partnership with Novus to clean up our streets and make them look presentable.

Tenants tell us that getting rid of litter left on the streets is an issue of concern to them. We work with communities on initiatives like this on a regular basis, to improving the quality of life for local residents and to encourage people to take pride in their communities.

We were delighted with the positive response received from tenants along Ffordd Caernarfon and we look forward to carrying out further litter picks in other communities in the future.

A spokesperson for Novus, said: “Novus have just started a project for Adra Housing Association in Bangor. We have been asked to replace the roof, fit external wall insulation, new windows and doors on a block of flats.  We have noticed that the area around the block is quite badly covered in litter, so the Novus site team, and representatives from Adra have found time in their busy day today to carry out a litter pick of the area.

“A wonderful turn out of Staff from Novus and Adra have today spent an hour cleaning the area around the block followed by a lovely hot drink and treats.   Between us all we have filled over 10 bags of general rubbish and a couple of bags of leaves”.
